A mixed bag of results from five cars on the Weslake Trophy grid: BXN, 202, 208, 210, and 401. Richard Woolmer in BXN threw the yellow Sprite onto pole by nearly two seconds in the damp. Race day brought drama as Woolmer stayed with the leading Lenham of James Coburn, at times side by side through the fast Fordwater section. A lunge at the chicane put Woolmer in a popular lead — a memorable moment for the WSM family.
