The Early Years: 1962-1965

The first WSM competed at Silverstone in October 1962. Mike Lewis recorded numerous victories with WSM 202 in 1963, and at the Six Hour Relay that year, WSMs 201 and 206 finished 8th overall. Peter Jackson drove WSM 201 to 3rd in class at the Nurburgring Nordschleife in the 1964 German Grand Prix support race, and repeated the achievement at the 1965 Rennen 500km. The 1965 Six Hour Relay saw a 5th place finish.

The Revival: 2001-2010

Following the WSM Re-Union at Rockingham in 2001, the cars returned to competition with the Equipe GTS and HRDC series. Goodwood Revival invitations in 2003, 2006 and 2010 were highlights, alongside regular outings at Brands Hatch, Silverstone, Snetterton, Donington, Oulton Park, and European circuits including Spa-Francorchamps, Zandvoort, Zolder, Monza, Le Mans and the Circuit des Remparts at Angouleme.

The S2 Era: 2011 onwards

WSM 401 S2 made its race debut at Snetterton in October 2011, the first new-build WSM to compete in nearly 50 years. Ian Hulett and Murray Henderson built the spaceframe Sprint, and it has been campaigned in HRDC and Equipe GTS events at circuits including Brands Hatch, Donington, Silverstone, Spa and Oulton Park. WSM 208 meanwhile continued to accumulate class wins at Brands Hatch, Silverstone, Zandvoort and Le Mans.

WSMs have competed at: Brands Hatch, Silverstone, Goodwood, Oulton Park, Snetterton, Castle Combe, Donington Park, Cadwell Park, Croft, Mallory Park, Knockhill, Pembrey, Spa-Francorchamps, Zandvoort, Zolder, Nurburgring Nordschleife, Monza, Dijon-Prenois, Le Mans, Circuit des Remparts Angouleme, and the Manx Classic on the Isle of Man.
