WSM 301 — GT

1965 — Alec and Fred supervise WSM 301 leaving Peels Coachworks behind the WSM MG1100.

With Delta manager Peter Jackson at the wheel, ready for owner Michael Royde in March 1966. Michael raced the car at Castle Combe in 1967. The car was then painted yellow and sold in 1970 to Dr Churton Pauli, then to Dr Anthony Hodsman in 1973. An engine fire wrecked the bonnet and screen while his wife was driving home.

Peter Clinch bought the car in 1974 and renewed the bonnet and loom, but could not replace the screen. Peter contacted the W-S family in order to sell the car in 1979. Anthony Wilson-Spratt purchased it in 1980.

The restored car raced with the Austin Healey Club in the UK, Equipe GTS at Le Mans and Zolder, Goodwood Revival in 2003 and 2006, and Monza in 2007 with the FISC EuroTour series. Peter Hesz is the current custodian, campaigning at Llandow in 2024.
