Jim joined the Delta Garage business in 1963 after having worked at the Donald Healey Motor Company in London for seven years. An acknowledged expert in driving tests and a founder member of the Healey Drivers Club, it was through competition entries that Jim first met Douglas. Together they coined the name ‘WSMs’ — Wilson-Spratt & McManus — nicknamed ‘Wuzzums’ by Laurette Wilson-Spratt. Jim moved on in 1965, and contact was sporadic until the Rockingham Re-Union in 2001. Jim and Peggy were integral parts of all WSM gatherings until Jim’s passing on 5th August 2018.
