WSM Jaguar XK150S — The Tow Car

In 1964 William Geldeard sold aviator and garagiste Douglas Hull a white 1959 Jaguar XK150S. Douglas used the car for his garage business and in 1967 asked friend DW-S to fashion an estate. Peels of Kingston carried out the design and included facility for roof rails to carry body panels.

Douglas Hull raced an ERA and flew Gypsy Moth aircraft. He used the Jaguar to tow his car, sometimes his aeroplane and occasionally friend Patrick Lindsay’s ERA to events. Brother Peter also raced the Jaguar at VSCC meetings.

Bernard Harding, Rodney Tolhurst, Graham Radcliffe and Martin Staverman were subsequent owners, but long-term storage had taken its toll. In 1998 Peter Janssen saw the car and agreed to purchase, completing a long-term restoration.

Dealer Aaldering in Brummen (Netherlands) sold the car to Judy A. Reyes. Eugen Schmid of Switzerland bought the car in 2005 and uses it regularly at classic car shows and meetings.
