WSM 207 — Sprint

Laurette Wilson-Spratt pictured at the wheel of WSM 207 at Delta Garage in June 1963 prior to export to New York for American serviceman Joel Nelson in August.

The spaceframe aluminium bodied car remained in the USA and was later sold to Fred Glaesner, then to Walter Donaghy of Bluemont, Virginia.

Kent Bain prepared and drove WSM 207 in Sports Car Club of America races for Donaghy in Connecticut. Vintage Racing Services restored the car in 1987 after storage since 1968, and Kent maintained and raced the car in over 30 events including the Vintage Fall Festival at Lime Rock (2nd overall, 1991) and the Jefferson 500 at Summit Point Raceway (8th, 1998).

Rae Davis of London bought the car in May 2003 and the car received an invitation for the Goodwood Revival in September 2003, driven by Ian Guest.

In 2006 and 2010, driven by Ivor Miller, 207 was one of five WSMs invited to race in the Fordwater Trophy at the Revival. The car featured at the head of the HRDC Grand Touring Greats series in 2011/2012, and celebrated 50 years on 13th March 2013.
