WSM MGB

Pictured with WSM 206 in 1965 at Silverstone — a fast and well-sorted 1963 MGB roadster owned by Robbie Gordon. After race damage, the chassis was purchased by Mike Lewis in 1966 for DW-S to design a new body.

Peel Coachworks built the aluminium WSM and incorporated a Kamm-style rear and hatchback boot. The car was used daily and driven to most events in 1967.

Robin Pinkerton, Barry Sidery-Smith, Tony Bianchi, Josie Tolhurst, Ben Grubb and Amanda Langton each owned the car, until 1984 when it was displayed in the Dutch Autotron museum. In 1996 the car returned to the UK and family ownership.

Road registered and occasionally driven to events, the car featured alongside other WSMs at the 2003, 2006 and 2010 Goodwood Revivals, at the MGB50 celebration races at Spa and MGCC Silverstone in 2012, and at the 2022 Goodwood Revival Lavant Cup on the GP circuit. The colour was altered to incorporate the Chiron blue favoured by DW-S.
